Remember when this space used to pretend to be a music blog? Yeah, me neither. But it's true.
This great number from Bruce Hornsby popped up on my iPod last night, and the volume went up. When the song was new, I saw several live performances on TV, with great interplay between piano and rhythm section. This promotional video is a solo performance, but has two extra verses that I don't get with the recorded version, so it's an extra treat for me. Hope you enjoy it.

I hadn't heard this piece before. Great music and so well performed. Personally, I didn't miss the rhythm section. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteMy father was a huuuuge fan of Hornsby and the Range's "The Way It Is" and the one with the chorus "know she's out there somewhere/on the western skyline", the title of which I don't know. He'd play the album on short journeys in the car between town and home, so hearing snatches like this with individual tracks brings back a whole host of memories.
ReplyDeleteThis is nice.
Very impressed with his piano playing in way that pre-teenage me was unable to be.
Thanks for the link!
